Tulsi Gabbard meets NSA Ajit Doval, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh during first day of India visit
New Delhi, Mar 17: US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard’s visit to India marks the first high-level visit from the new Donald Trump administration. She arrived in New Delhi on Sunday for a two-and-a-half-day trip and attended a security conference chaired by National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval.
The conference focused on enhancing intelligence-sharing to combat terrorism, transnational crimes, financial crimes, and cyber threats. Discussions also covered the ongoing Ukraine war. Intelligence chiefs from Australia, New Zealand, and Japan participated in the conference, according to a home ministry official.
The security conference was organized by India’s National Security Council Secretariat and took place a day before the Raisina Dialogue, India’s premier conference on geopolitics and geo-economics.
US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday to discuss strengthening defence and security cooperation between India and the United States. Gabbard had announced her visit last week, highlighting that her trip is part of a broader tour of the Indo-Pacific region. Her itinerary includes visits to Japan, Thailand, and India, with a brief stop in France before returning to Washington, D.C.
