Srinagar, Mar 17: National Conference (NC) legislator Riyaz Ahmad Khan has raised serious concerns regarding the unauthorised videography of school students, including girls, in private schools across Kashmir.

Speaking in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Khan shared the grievances of parents who claim that videos of their children are being recorded and shared on social media and other platforms without their consent.

“The videos taken during morning assemblies, classes, or school events are being circulated without the knowledge or approval of students or their parents,” Khan said. He said that such practices raise significant privacy concerns and potential risks, particularly for female students.

“Unauthorised sharing of student videos can lead to serious consequences, including misuse and privacy violations,” he warned. Khan asked authorities to take immediate action to regulate such activities and ensure that schools comply with privacy laws. Legal provisions already exist to address such issues.
