Srinagar, Jan 13: The Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh has become a beacon of success under various centrally sponsored schemes, with a prime example being the establishment of a thriving factory in Mamrakha Pur within the Sidhor block.

The factory, initiated under the NRLM scheme, is a joint effort of 10 Self Help Groups (SHGs), comprising around 3000 individuals, showcasing the power of collective enterprise.

Operational for seven months and inaugurated on June 9, 2023, the factory's profitability is attributed to the active participation of approximately 20 women workers.

The success story exemplifies how individuals, through such initiatives, are achieving self-sufficiency and prosperity.

This achievement is not an isolated incident, as people across the Barabanki district are harnessing the potential of various government schemes.

The district's transformative journey was highlighted during a media tour wherein 13 journalists from Jammu and Kashmir took firsthand account of the implementation of schemes and the benefits received by the people.

The journalists witnessed the firsthand impact of centrally sponsored schemes besides the awareness programs organised as part of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY).

Farmers in the district have shifted from traditional to commercial farming, reaping substantial profits. Various awareness programs under VBSY were conducted, witnessed by the journalists, emphasizing the government's commitment to bringing welfare schemes to the masses.

The tour included interactions with key figures such as Padma Shree Ram Saran Verma, a revolutionary farmer whose techniques have been replicated nationwide.

The Additional Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh According to Dweesh Chaturvedi, who is overseeing the Vikas Bharat Yatra said the campaign has covered more than 39,000-gram panchayats in rural areas and 1,166 locations in urban areas across the state.

He said the journey has garnered massive participation, with over 2.7 lakh people actively involved in various programmes so far.

The beneficiaries of various schemes interacted with the journalists at 'Yogananda Girls Inter College' in Barabanki and highlighted VBSY's positive impact on the lives of the poor and marginalised.

"In Barabanki district, the government has an investment plan of 20000 crores, with half of the amount dedicated to the agriculture sector," District Magistrate Barabanki, Satinder Kumar told the visiting journalists of Kashmir.

The nationwide Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has already benefited over 43.41 lakh people in Uttar Pradesh alone.

Mohammadpur Chandi Singh Gram Panchayat in Siddhaur Development Block recorded massive participation, showcasing the effective implementation of flagship schemes like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Ujwala Yojana. Different departments had established stalls on the venue as part of the VBSY to cater to the beneficiaries who are left out in different schemes.

The visiting journalists engaged with beneficiaries who shared stories of improved living conditions under these initiatives.

The Agricultural Department's drone demonstration, highlighting the use of nano urea for crop spraying, underscored Barabanki's commitment to adopting technology for agricultural advancement.

Farmers have received comprehensive education on balanced fertilizer application, natural farming practices, and nano urea utilisation through drones.
