EJAC lauds Darakhshan Andrabi for wage hike
Srinagar, Apr 2: In a gesture of appreciation, a delegation of the Jammu and Kashmir Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC), led by President Wajahat Hussain Durrani, met Chairperson of the J&K Waqf Board Darakhshan Andrabi and expressed their gratitude for her role in securing a fourfold wage increase for Casual, Consolidated, Contractual, Muster Sheet, and Stop Gap workers, along with a 20 percent salary hike for other employees, including Imams, Khateebs, and Muezzins including teachers.
A statement of EJAC issued here said that recognising the long-standing hardships faced by these workers, the delegation acknowledged the chairperson’s empathy and commitment to alleviating their struggles.
“This landmark decision has not only provided financial relief but has also made this Eid truly special and joyful for thousands of families across J&K,” the statement said.
