Admin apathy derailing higher education promotions: JKEJCC
Srinagar, Apr 6: J&K Employee Joint Consultative Committee (JKEJCC) Sunday urged Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Minister of Higher Education, Sakeena Itoo to address issues of non-teaching employees working in various degree colleges of J&K.
In a statement issued here, JKEJCC said that the employees were suffering for a long time due to delays in their DPCs, time-bound promotions, transfer policy, and non-addressing of their other genuine demands.
“All the issues about the non-teaching staff need to be addressed by the Director Colleges. Unfortunately, attention is not being paid towards their genuine issues and demands,” JKEJCC said. “Since the Principal who has worked in the colleges is being appointed as Director Colleges HED and due to lack of administrative skills by the chair this acts as the main reason behind the delay in addressing all these issues.”
The JKEJCC said that for the School Education Department an administrative officer, mostly a JKAS officer is appointed as director for the department.
“We request that for the Higher Education Department, the same process should be followed so that the genuine demands and issues of non-teaching employees working in various colleges are addressed,” it said.
