Volleyball tournament organised by Indian Army concludes
Rajouri, Jan 28: The volleyball tournament organised by the Indian Army's Ace of Spades Division under operation Sadhbavana concluded on Tuesday.
This tournament, as per a release, was organised in the Line of Control (LoC) area of Nowshera in JK's Rajouri district, with teams from across the region participating in it.
The Ace of Spades Division of the Indian Army hosted the grand finale of this Nowshera Premier League volleyball tournament at Lower Garhi Garrison in the border sub division of Nowshera.
This tournament, the army said, provided an important platform for fostering sportsmanship and promoting youth engagement, further strengthening the bond between the Indian Army and the local community.
Over the course of the tournament, fourteen teams, representing various villages in the region of Rajouri, demonstrated outstanding skill and determination in the boys and girls categories.
After intense league matches, the final was played between Bangoti vs Rajpur Titan Team and Jammu in the boys category and between Halal vs Khan team in the girls category.
The final was won by Bagnoti Team Jammu and Halal in the boys and girls categories, respectively.
The initiative not only highlighted the Army’s commitment to encouraging youth participation in sports but also helped to identify emerging talent and provide them with an opportunity to showcase their skills.
The Army has identified players whose professional coaching will be sponsored in an effort to pay back to the community.
The final matches were a spectacle of energy and enthusiasm, showcasing the talent and resilience of the region’s youth, and the culmination of the tournament underscores the Army’s dedication to fostering a spirit of collaboration, professionalism, and sportsmanship.
The Nowshera Premier League has proven to be a unifying event, bringing together the community and inspiring young minds to strive for excellence, both on and off the field.
Further, the Champions and Runner-up teams were felicitated by the Chief Guest with a certificate, medal, trophy, and an attractive cash prize for each category.
An operation Sadhbavana Gatka tournament was also organised by the Tithwal warriors to add grandeur to the whole event.
