Shopian, Dec 5: The Shopian District Table Tennis Championship 2025 wrapped up after a series of competitive matches across men’s, women’s, junior divisions, seniors and veterans, with 47 players taking part in the event organised by the district association in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council.

The event, as per a statement issued on Friday, was inaugurated by Dr Murad Hussain Shah, Dr Umar Rashid (Physical Director), alongside Prof Shiraz Gull Sheikh, Riyaz Ali, and Dr Bilal Ahad.

In the Junior Boys' Category, Furqaan Nazir defeated Muneeb Manzoor, and Danish Hamid triumphed over Subzar Hassan in the Sub-Junior Boys' Category. In the Girls' Junior Category, Atiya Khan emerged victorious against Arjuman Bashir. The Sub-Junior Girls' Category saw Roomey Jan defeating Arshika Sarwar.

In the Men's Category, Kaiser bested Sahil Ahmad, while Mohsin Shafi won against Umer Rashid. Arbaz Amin triumphed over Rizwan in the Senior Men's Category.

In the final match of the championship, Fiza Rashid defeated Samin Saleem to claim victory in the women's category.

The final award ceremony was held at the multi-purpose hall of the college.

, where Prof (Dr) Mohd Shafiq, Principal of the college, addressed the participants. He emphasised the importance of sports in daily life and encouraged students to engage in more physical activities for their overall development.
