Jammu, Nov 13: 7-member Steering committee will assist the Union Territory Level Committee (UTLC) in overseeing preparations for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra across J&K.
The 37-member UTLC-led by the Chief Secretary was constituted on November 7, 2023.

As per the terms of reference for the steering panel, specified by an order issued by General Administration Department (GAD), it (steering committee) will also monitor the day-to-day programmes held under the Yatra across the Union Territory and supervise the arrangements required for smooth conduct of events.
Its mandate also includes to guide the District & Sub District Level Committees in conducting day to day events and programmes under the Yatra.

“It is further ordered that a representative of the Housing & Urban Development Department, not below the rank of Additional Secretary, shall also be a member of the Screening Committee,” the GAD order said.
On November 9, the government had constituted a 6-member steering committee to assist the Union Territory Level Committee for regular review and improving coordination among different organizations associated with the campaign (Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra).

With Principal Secretary to the Government, Finance department as its chairperson, the committee had Commissioner Secretary Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Affairs; Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir; Commissioner Secretary Information Technology Department and Divisional Commissioner, Jammu as its members.
The Secretary Planning Development and Monitoring department was its member-convenor.

As per GAD order, the committee was to be serviced by the Planning Development & Monitoring Department.
