Union govt must fulfil its promises, commitments made to J&K people: NC
Srinagar, Nov 26: National Conference (NC) Additional General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal today called on the union government to fulfill its promises made to the people of J&K.
“It is imperative that the commitments made to the region are honoured in order to build trust and foster peace and development. The people of J&K deserve nothing less than the full realisation of the pledges made to them,” Dr Kamal said. According to a press release he was interacting with the party functionaries here.
Kamal stated that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have overwhelmingly voted in the assembly elections to reclaim their rights and statehood. He emphasised that the residents of Jammu and Kashmir have fulfilled their civic duty by actively engaging in the democratic process, and now it is imperative for New Delhi to fulfill its promises of restoring the constitutional rights and granting empowered statehood to the people.
He added, “It is time for New Delhi to deliver on its commitments and uphold the democratic principles that the people of J&K have so fervently supported.”
