U.S citizen detained for carrying satellite phone at Srinagar Airport

As per Airport authorities the person has been handed over to the police and they will continue with the further process

Srinagar, Aug 06: A U.S citizen has been detained for carrying a satellite phone at the Srinagar International Airport, officials said Tuesday.

Speaking to Greater Kashmir, SHO Humhama, Mohd Adil Dar said that a citizen from United States was held with a satellite phone.

He said that the citizen has been taken into custody, and soon a charge-sheet would be provided.

He said that apparently the person didn’t know the rules-that carrying a satellite phone is prohibited here.

Regarding more details and the purpose of carrying the device, the SHO said that will be investigated.
