Two minor girls raped while returning home from school picnic in J-K's Udhampur

Jammu, Jun 8: Two minor girls were allegedly raped by two men in a forest area of Jammu's Udhampur, said police on Saturday.

The two accused men were identified as Dalip Kumar and Ravinder Kumar by police, who said both men are residents of Panchound.

The girls, aged 16 and 17 were on their way to home from a school picnic when they were halted by the accused and raped in a forest on Friday evening, said a police spokesperson.

The girls were lying unconscious in the forest area thought the night and were recovered by the police on Saturday morning after getting information, reported The Week.

The girls were then shifted to a hospital in Ramnagar for treatment while a case under relevant sections of law was registered at the local police station, said an official.

He said that the accused had fled after committing the crime, however, was arrested by special police teams. The investigation has also been initiated in this matter, said a police spokesperson.
