2 bootleggers arrested in Ramban
Ramban, Sep 04: Ramban Police arrested two bootleggers and recovered around 50 bottles of illicit liquor from their possession on Wednesday.
Police sources said on the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police Ramban, Kulbir Singh, a Police team of Police Station Ramban arrested two bootleggers at two different locations in Ramban.
They said a Police Party of Police Station Ramban while conducting Patrolling duty apprehended a person Dhani Ram Son of Suraj Singh resident of Tanger Tehsil and District Ramban and recovered 17 bottles (375ML each)of illicit alcohol and 15 Bottles (180ML each) from his possession.
The accused was found illegally selling the liquor and a total 32 number of bottles were recovered from his possessions.
In another instance another Police party of Police Station Ramban apprehended another bootlegger Om Singh Son of Pyar Singh resident of Village Adwah Tehsil and District Ramban and recovered 08 Bottles of (750 ML each)and 09 Bottles of (375 ML each)from his possession.
The accused was found illegally selling liquor and a total 17 Bottles were recovered from his possession.
Police has registered two separate case FIRs, 214, and 215 of 2024, under relevant sections of the Excise Act at Police Station Ramban.
