Two dead after vehicle plunges into gorge in J-K’s Ramban

Banihal, Mar 22: Two persons died after a vehicle loaded with vegetables met with an accident and rolled down into a deep gorge in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, officials said.

A police official told Greater Kashmir that a vehicle loaded with vegetables rolled down from Jammu-Srinagar national highway in the Battery Chashma area of Ramban.

He said two persons, including the driver and a helper, died in the accident.

The deceased driver was identified as Irshad Ahmed and his helper as Seva Singh. Both were residents of Ukhral Pogal Paristan in district Ramban.

The official said a rescue operation by Police, UTDRF and civil QRT Ramban is going on to retrieve the bodies from the gorge.
