Srinagar, Mar 30: A 15-day Equine Training Programme conducted at the Army's Veterinary Hospital, Srinagar for internship students from SKUAST, Kashmir concluded.

The programme, a joint initiative by SKUAST-K and the Indian Army's Advance Veterinary Hospital, provided final year students of BVSc & AH with a hands-on learning experience under the guidance of seasoned professionals from the Remount and Veterinary Corps.

The valedictory ceremony was attended by distinguished guests including Prof Nazir Ahmed Ganai, Vice Chancellor of SKUAST Kashmir and Brig. Laxmikant Madrewar among other esteemed officers of the two organizations.  Prof. Ganai in his address highlighted the pivotal role of the livestock sector in the growth and development of country. He further elaborated on various initiatives undertaken by SKUAST-K in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship. Brig Madrewar, while speaking on the occasion, encouraged interns to explore opportunities in the veterinary field within the Indian Army. He further lauded the program's role in nurturing excellence and fostering mutualism between academia and the military with an eye to develop Veterinary Education to next level.

The valedictory function attended by 73 passing students of FVSc & AH, SKUAST-K, resonated with words of encouragement and wisdom, inspiring these interns to strive for excellence in future careers.

Later, Col. SK Dahiya, Commandant of Army Veterinary Hospital, extended gratitude to all the contributors of the programme and prayed for a brighter and successful future of budding veterinarians. This collaborative effort not only equipped interns with essential skills but also nurtured enduring connections and friendships, embodying the spirit of growth and collaboration that defines both SKUAST-K and the Indian Army's commitment to excellence.

The event was also attended by Prof MT Banday, Dean FVSc & AH, Prof. Amatul Muhee, Internship Coordinator and Head, Veterinary Clinics along with other esteemed officers of the Indian Army at Haft Chinar, base at Srinagar.
