Bhaderwah, Nov 27: The Department of Handloom and Handicraft organized a day-long exhibition in Bhadarwah, highlighting Prime Minister's initiative 'Vikas Bhi Virasat Bhi' and empowering local women through traditional crafts.

Inaugurated by DC Doda Harvinder Singh and Commanding Officer 4RR Col. Yogesh Chouhan, the event saw 200 local women displaying their handicraft skills at Community Hall Kotli.

The exhibition showcased unique local crafts including Paper Machee, terracotta art, and Kora Dabka, which DC highlighted as potential domestic and international attractions. Col. Chouhan noted the promising involvement of young, educated entrepreneurs leveraging technology in the handicraft sector.

Aneeza Mushtaq, a Paper Machee trainer, shared her achievement of training 700 women in transforming kitchen waste like egg shells and newspapers into art, emphasizing the program's potential for women's empowerment.
