TLSC Sopore observes Legal Services Day
Sopore, Nov 9: In a remarkable event aimed at raising awareness about legal rights and services, the Tehsil Legal Services Committee Sopore, in collaboration with Sopore Law College, observed the Legal Services Day today.
The event, which brought together legal professionals, students, and community members, was attended by the presence of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Sopore as the Chief Guest, while the Vice Chairperson and Principal of Sopore Law College attended as esteemed Guests of Honor.
The event commenced with a thought-provoking speech delivered by the Principal of Sopore Law College, who provided a comprehensive overview of the “Legal Services Authorities Act”.
The Principal highlighted the importance of accessible legal aid and emphasised the role of legal services in ensuring justice for all, especially for marginalised communities. Mir Irfan, a talented student of Sopore Law College, inspired the audience with a soulful poetry performance on the “Right to Information (RTI) Act”.
His words struck a chord with the audience, illustrating the power of information in empowering citizens and ensuring transparency and accountability in governance. Irfan’s insightful piece also shed light on the relationship between legal services and the RTI, encouraging all to embrace these tools for justice.
In his address, CJM Sopore expressed his happiness at the level of talent exhibited by the students of Sopore Law College.
He remarked, “It gives me great pride to see such promising, multi-talented students who are the future of law. Your dedication and knowledge will shape the legal landscape of tomorrow.”
His encouraging words served as motivation for the students to continue their studies and contribute meaningfully to the field of law.
The event concluded with a commitment to continue fostering legal awareness and providing free legal services to the community. The collaborative efforts of the Tehsil Legal Services Committee and Sopore Law College are “a step forward in strengthening the foundation of justice and legal literacy in the region.”
