People aghast over delayed issuance of DoB certificates in Karnah
Kupwara, Dec 24: The residents of border town Karnah in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district have expressed their dissatisfaction with the severe delays in the issuance of Date of Birth (DOB) certificates, causing enduring hardships for them.
The residents said that they are being forced to run between the offices of Block Development Officer (BDO) Karnah and Block Medical Officer (BMO) Karnah, which has created significant hardships for them.
The residents said that there was lack of coordination between the two departments resulting not only in a waste of their valuable time but also causing financial loss. "I am unable to figure out that why the certificate issued by the BMO office is not being accepted at the BDO office, leaving people even more confused," Wasim Baba a local told Greater Kashmir.
"The issue is also hindering the completion of children’s educational documents, causing students to fall behind in their studies. This issue not only causes significant inconvenience to local residents but also raises questions about the efficiency of concerned officials," he added.
The residents have called on the government and relevant authorities to find an immediate solution to this problem so that they may not face hardships further.
Meanwhile Tehsildar Karnah Mohammad Amin told Greater Kashmir that due to some communication gap between the offices of BMO and BDO, people faced hardships. "The matter stands resolved now," he added.
