They strangulated him with a scarf: Police on Pattan murder, says it has solved the 'blind murder case'

The investigation, police said revealed that the accused had hatched a conspiracy to kill the slain on August 01, 2024.

Srinagar, Aug 10:  The police on Saturday said that it arrested four accused involved in a blind murder case that happened in the Pattan area of north Kashmir's Baramulla.

Police said that on August 02, 2024, it received an information about an unknown body found under the Khambiyar-Andergam bridge. The body was later identified to be of one Nasir Ahmad Ganaie, resident of Pousnaq Kreeri, said police in a statement.

Following this, an interrogation, examination of evidences and analysis of technical data was carried leading to a success in the investigation, reported news agency KNC.

After this, police arrested four persons accused of the murder. They have been identified as "Gh Mohiuddin Ganie son of Late Gh Nabi, Fatima Begum wife of Gh Mohiuddin Ganie, Rubeena Bano daughter of Gh Mohiuddin Ganie, Aadil Ahmad Ganie son of Gh Mohiuddin, all residents of Gundbal Pattan of north Kashmir's Baramulla," police said.

The investigation, police said revealed that the accused had hatched a conspiracy to kill the slain on August 01, 2024.

Police said that the accused had strangulated the victim with a scarf and disposed the body under the bridge.

It said that the accused persons are in the police custody for now and that the weapon of offence-a scarf in this case- including other evidences have been recovered too.

Further investigation is under process, the police said.
