Terrorist wanted in Gagangeer attack killed in Dachigam: Police
Srinagar, Dec 03: One of the terrorists wanted in the October 20 Gagangeer attack was killed in a gunfight with the police and security forces in the Dachigam forests on Tuesday, officials said.
A top police official told Greater Kashmir that the terrorist, identified as Junaid Ahmad Bhat, was wanted for the Gagangeer attack in which seven civilians were killed.
Bhat, he added, was a local LeT commander.
“In the ongoing operation, one terrorist has been killed and identified as Junaid Ahmed Bhat (LeT, Category A). The said terrorist was involved in the killing of civilians in Gagangeer, Ganderbal, and several other terror attacks,” said a police spokesman on X.

The spokesman said that joint parties of security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the upper reaches of Dachigam forest, based on specific intelligence inputs.
"The operation was launched on Monday evening after receiving information about suspicious movement in the area," an official said.
