Tenure of 3 temporary APCCF posts in J&K extended

Jammu, Dec 9: Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has extended three temporarily added posts of Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (APCCF) in the Union Territory of J&K for a period of two years.

As per the recommendation of the Joint Cadre Authority, the extension granted is with effect from December 18, 2022 up to December 18, 2024.

Through a separate order, the Union Ministry, as per recommendation of the Joint Cadre Authority, has abolished the post of PCCF in Ladakh segment, which had been temporarily added for a period of two years.

However, it has temporarily created one post of APCCF, for a period of two years with effect from August 24, 2023 in Ladakh Union Territory (UT).

“As per the recommendation of the Joint Cadre Authority and with the approval of the central government, sanction is hereby accorded under Rule 4(2) of the IFS (Cadre) Rules, 1966 for extension of 3 temporarily added posts of APCCF in the UT of J&K for a period of 2 years w.e.f. December 18, 2022 up to December 18, 2024,” read an order issued by the Ministry.

As per the order, the Government of J&K vide their order No 119-JK (FST) of 2020 dated December 18, 2020 had temporarily added 3 posts of APCCF in the erstwhile IFS cadre of J&K for a period of two years up to December 18, 2022 which was earlier ratified by the Joint Cadre Authority in its meeting held on October 18, 2022.

“In continuation of this Ministry Office Order No 12030/1/2019-IFS-I (AGMUT) dated August 1, 2022, and as per recommendation of the Joint Cadre Authority, the post of PCCF in Ladakh segment, which had been temporarily added for a period of two years w.e.f. August 1, 2022, is hereby abolished with immediate effect,” read a separate order of the Ministry.

“Further, in terms of Rule 4 of the Indian Forest Service (Cadre) Rules, 1966, 1 post of APCCF in UT of Ladakh is hereby temporarily created, as per recommendation of the Joint Cadre Authority, for a period of 2 years w.e.f. August 24, 2023,” it further read.
