Tarigami concerned over lack of compensation
Srinagar, July 17: CPI (M) leader Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami has expressed serious concern over the administrative apathy by PMGSY and other departments who have failed to compensate the land owners whose lands have been procured for different purposes.
In a statement, he said that the land owners who are normally the marginalised farmers are aghast over the tarry approach adopted by the concerned departments since 2019, mostly adhere to glibbery behaviour, which has created the wave of consternations among the common masses. He demanded immediate compensation to the people whose lands have been taken away by PMGSY and other departments.
“People in J&K have a long history of struggles against feudals. The officers should not pose bigger than the general public. They are expected to be the custodian of the public interest, as such they must do more to serve the public and use their capacities to mitigate the sufferings of the common people,” Tarigami said.
