TAAK concludes 3-day FAM tour to Chenab Valley

Srinagar, Nov 13: The Travel Agents Association of Kashmir (TAAK) concluded a 3-day Familiarisation (FAM) tour to Chenab Valley in its efforts to explore offbeat destinations like Patnitop, Doda, Bhadarwah, Kishtwar, Sinthantop and Daksum.

A statement said that the FAM tour led by President TAAK Rauf Tramboo was aimed to highlight the region’s potential as a tourist destination, focusing on infrastructure, adventure activities, and local culture.

The tour was inaugurated by MLA Gulmarg, Farooq A. Shah, alongside TAAK President Rauf A. Tramboo, Past President Peerzada Fayaz, Vice President Habibullah Pandaw, Secretary General Sajad Ahmad Kralyari in which over 30 TAAK members participated.

On Day 1, the group visited Patnitop, where they explored the newly built SkyView Empyrean Gondola and Resort. The team interacted with the resort management, followed by a meeting with Sunena Mehta Sharma, Joint Director of Jammu Tourism, who praised TAAK’s efforts to promote Jammu and assured her full support for future initiatives.

The team then visited Bhadarwah. Day 2 saw the group explore Bhadarwah, including Guldanda, Tiger Hill, Jai Valley, and Tilligarh Garden Resort. The team engaged in discussions with local stakeholders about infrastructure, services, and adventure tourism opportunities.

On the final day, the team met with the District Development Commissioner of Doda, Harvinder Singh, to discuss the tourism potential of the Chenab Valley.

The team expressed satisfaction with the area's road connectivity and committed to incorporating it into their future itineraries.

DDC Doda highlighted the vast potential of the Chinab Valley besides adventure activities that tourists can undertake.

The DDC Doda further said they are ramping up promotional activities to bring Bhaderwah on a world tourism map.

Later in the afternoon, the TAAK team also held an interactive meeting with DDC Kishtwar Rajesh Kumar Shavan.

During the interaction, President TAAK highlighted the vast potential of the Kishtwar Valley, especially in adventure tourism segments like trekking,mountaineering, and paragliding.

He said Daksum - Kishtwar connectivity is a huge bonus for making it one of the favourite destinations for travellers visiting Kashmir.

The DDC Kishtwar hailed TAAK for organising the FAM tour to Kishtwar and assured his full support in such initiatives.

Afterwards, the group crossed Sinthantop and concluded the circuit tour at Srinagar.

The trip was organised by TAAK and supported by the Directorate of Tourism Jammu, SAZ Valley Resort Bhadarwah, and Apple Tree Hotel and Restaurant, Bhaderwah.
