Suspected IED found on Jammu ring road, traffic suspended

Jammu, Oct 05: A suspected explosive was found on Ring Road in the Gharota area of Akhnoor in Jammu district late Saturday evening.

An official told NVI that the traffic was halted as the Bomb Disposal Squad(BDS) was called to the scene.

He said that the device, weighing around 1.7 kg, is suspected to be an improvised explosive device (IED) fitted with a timer inside a container.

"We are investigating the incident, which may be linked to a potential terror strike," he said.
