Students cricket club wins Sopore police T20 tournament by 1-run
Sopore, Feb 25: The Sopore Police Martyrs Memorial T-20 Knockout Cricket Tournament 2024-25 concluded with a thrilling finale on Tuesday.
The tournament, which commenced on December 24, 2024, at M.E.T Ground Sopore, saw the participation of 32 teams from Police District Sopore.
In an electrifying final, Students Cricket Club Warpora Sopore edged past Seer Eleven by just one run, clinching the title in a nail-biting finish.
The closing ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including Deputy Inspector General of Police North Kashmir Range Baramulla Maqsood ul Zaman-IPS and SP Sopore Divya D-IPS, who distributed cash prizes of Rs 1,00000 for the winner-up team and Rs 50,000 for the runner-up team and trophies to finalist teams and players.
The event aimed to promote sports and encourage young talent while also honouring the sacrifices of J&K Police martyrs. Sopore Police assured participants that they would continue to support and organize such events in the future.
