Ramban, July 10: The Srinagar- Jammu National Highway remained open for two-way traffic of light medium vehicles, and one-way traffic of heavy vehicles for Srinagar on Wednesday.

Traffic authorities said traffic movement remained slow due to the breakdown of few heavy vehicles and due to single-lane road stretches at Dalwass, Mehar Cafeteria, and between Maroog to Kishtwar Pathar areas between Nashri and Banihal sectors of National Highway.

Traffic officials monitoring traffic regulations said National Highway remained open for two-way traffic of light medium vehicles and one way traffic of Heavy vehicles for Kashmir.

They said heavy vehicles released from Jakhani, Udhampur are heading towards Kashmir in a regulated manner.

Meanwhile, traffic authorities said, subject to fair weather and good road conditions, light-medium vehicles carrying Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra pilgrims would be allowed to ply on either side of NH-44 on Thursday.

They said heavy vehicles would be allowed to move towards Jammu from Qazigund, Kashmir on Thursday afternoon or evening.
