SPO Farhat Gulzar clinches silver in Judo, secures spot in World Police Games
Kupwara, Aug 23: Special Police Officer (SPO) Farhat Gulzar from Kupwara has showcased exceptional skill and determination, securing a silver medal in judo at the All-India Police Games hosted by Assam Police in Guwahati.
This impressive achievement has earned him a coveted spot in the upcoming World Police and Fire Games in California, USA, scheduled for February 2025.
Gulzar's success reflects positively on the Jammu and Kashmir Police force, demonstrating the high calibre of its personnel. To commemorate this accomplishment, the District Police Office in Kupwara held a special ceremony where Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shobhit Saksena honored the silver medalist.
Speaking about his achievement, Gulzar expressed satisfaction with his performance while acknowledging his initial goal for gold. "I had aimed for a gold medal at the outset of the tournament, but I'm content with what I've achieved. The most important thing is that I represented Jammu and Kashmir Police at the all-India level, and now I'm set to represent it on the world stage," he stated.
Gulzar attributed his success to rigorous preparation and the unwavering support of his superiors in Kupwara. "I am really thankful to my officers in Kupwara who provided me all support. Without their support, I could not have achieved this feat," he added.
