SP College organises lecture on Entrepreneurship in Modern Dairy Farming

Srinagar, Dec 1: The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (CIED) of S P College today organised a lecture on Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Modern Dairy Farming, here.

A statement said that the lecture was the first of the lecture series on Entrepreneurship Opportunities for Students.

Prof Manzoor Ahmad Shah, Professor of Botany and Director Internal Quality Assurance, University of Kashmir was the chief guest at the event. He delivered insightful talk on the shades of entrepreneurship opportunities available to students across diverse domains.

Prof Manzoor touched upon the need to help students realize the potential of entrepreneurship and its importance in the present times

Earlier in his welcome address, Professor (Dr). Gh Jeelani Qurashi, Principal S P College and Patron of the programme informed the audience about the various initiatives taken up by the college to foster the culture of entrepreneurship amongst students.

He further added that the college was going to organize a series of lectures to help the budding entrepreneurs incubate and augment their creative energies towards this end.

The Inaugural lecture was delivered by Dr Parvaiz Ahmad Dar, Assistant Professor, Division of Veterinary, Microbiology and Immunology SKUAST Kashmir. The invited speaker presented a worm-eye view of the different aspects of Dairy Entrepreneurship and the promising opportunities it hands out to students and budding entrepreneurs.

Dr Parvaiz introduced the students to the global scenario of dairy farming and the status of our country and our UT in this arena. “Our UT, especially the Kashmir Division, has a boundless potential in Dairy Entrepreneurship”, he further added.

He emphasised students to look around for entrepreneurship opportunities as they hold a lot of promise and potential. He further presented a comprehensive view of the different initiatives taken by the college to help students with their ideas and aptitude vis-a-vis innovation and entrepreneurship.
