Sopore Police inaugurate T-10 knockout cricket tournament
Sopore, Mar 21: In a bid to bond community engagement and to promote youth participation in sports, Sopore Police inaugurated the T-10 Knockout Cricket Tournament under its Civic Action Program at Eden Park M.E.T Ground here in Sopore on Friday.
The tournament, featuring 10 teams, was inaugurated with much enthusiasm, with SP Sopore Divya D and ASP Sopore Mir Murtaza gracing the occasion as chief guests.
The inauguration ceremony set the stage for an exciting tournament, with SP Sopore encouraging players to demonstrate skills, discipline, and teamwork. The tournament provides a platform for healthy competition among young people.
The inaugural match saw Twoes Cricket Club face off against Friends Eleven, with Friends Eleven setting a target of 134 in 10 overs after winning the toss and winning the match by 42 runs. Danish was awarded the Player of the Match award for his outstanding innings of 50 runs. The event was attended by dignitaries, including SDPO Sopore Sarfaraz Bashir and DYSP DAR Sopore Mohammad Abdullah and other officers and officials of Sopore Police.
