Share disappointment of CM over disruption

Jammu, Apr 11: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Satish Sharma Friday stated that he shared the disappointment of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah over the disruption of business during the last three days of the budget session in the J&K Legislative Assembly.

While responding to media queries on the sidelines of an event in Jammu, Satish Sharma tried to pass the buck to the opposition for disruption in business and stated that precious time was wasted in the House, which was meant to raise people’s issues and meet their aspirations but few Members tried to play to the gallery. "Why did it happen, the question should be asked to the opposition," he said.

However, when his attention was sought that National Conference Members were at the forefront of creating an uproar, the minister said, “Yes, there were few members here and few there (on the opposition sides). Disruption occurred and the listed business was affected. The Chief Minister is very disappointed. I too share that disappointment. People have sent us to the House to resolve their issues. I hope next time it will not happen.”

About BJP members’ scuffle with AAP MLA, Satish, he said that people were watching their representatives. “As MLAs, we need to lead by example and our conduct should be ideal. Opposition is there to provoke you. But if you get provoked, it leads to your (treasury benches’) downfall. We need to learn from the patience and ideal conduct of the Chief Minister,” he said.

Satish Sharma stated, “We hope in the next month or so, we will get 200 buses as a gift from the Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to overcome the shortage of buses as is being complained about by the women of J&K.”
