Reports of attack on BJP worker in Budgam ‘baseless’: Police
Srinagar, Dec 25: Jammu & Kashmir Police on Wednesday rebutted news reports of attack on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker in central Kashmir’s Budgam, and termed it as “baseless”.
The police requested general public and media not to pay heed to such type of post and asked them to refrain from such news reports.
It said that rumor mongers will be dealt strictly under law.
“An unconfirmed news regarding terrorist attack on Srinagar based BJP worker at Budgam is baseless and not based on facts,” police spokesperson said.
“No such incident happened in the jurisdiction of District Budgam. District Police Budgam strongly refutes this news and requests general public/ media fraternity not to pay heed to such type of post and also requests not to share this post further. Rumour mongers will be dealt strictly under law,” the spokesperson added.
