Kashmir Bakers and Confectioners Association calls for unity
Srinagar, Dec 25: The Kashmir Bakers and Confectioners Association (KBCA) on Wednesday called for unity among the industry players.
A statement KBCA issued here said that it held its annual executive body meeting in Srinagar, which was attended by a wide array of distinguished guests, including executive members, district presidents, and other key participants, all of whom came together to reflect on the organisation’s progress and future endeavours.
The statement said that the meeting was chaired by KBCA President Shahid Hussain Mir, who expressed his gratitude for the continued support of the association’s members and the community.
He emphasised the importance of unity within the bakery and confectionery industry, stating that collaboration and collective effort would drive growth and prosperity for all members involved.
“This has been a year of achievement and change for the KBCA. Our new executive body has worked tirelessly to strengthen the foundation of this association. We are committed to promoting the interests of our members, fostering innovation in the industry, and ensuring a brighter future for all those in the bakery and confectionery business,” Mir said.
He highlighted the association’s commitment to addressing the challenges faced by its members and ensuring sustainable growth for the industry in the region.
The statement said that the meeting was attended by various executive members, including senior vice president Javed Ahmad Khan, vice president Himayoun Yousuf Jan, general secretary Bilal Ahmad Khan, chief advisor Muhammad Saleem Khan, advisors Umar Mukhtar Bhat, Sufi Bashir Ahmad, and Atta Muhammad Sofi, chief organiser Ashiq Hussain, organisers Ajaz Ahmad Sofi and Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi, chief coordinator Bashir Ahmad Sofi, coordinator Muhammad Shafi Sofi, spokesman Ghulam Mohiuddin Sofi, treasurer Sajid Ayoub Sofi, secretary Ubaid Nazir, executive members Tariq Ahmad Rather, Shahid Saleem Khan, Arjumandd Khan, Bilal Ahmad Kuchay, and Hilal Ahmad Bhat.
It said that several district presidents and members including district president, Kupwara Abdul Majeed Sofi, tehsil president Chadoora Shareef Ahmad Wani, Majid Ahmad Sofi from Anantnag, Showkat Ahmad Sofi from Ganderbal, Ashiq Hussain from Pulwama, Farooq Ahmad Khan from Bandipora, Muhammad Rafiq Sofi from tehsil Handwara, Muhammad Iqbal from tehsil Magam, and Parvaiz Ahmad from tehsil Ompora also participated in the meeting.
The statement said that the association continues to focus on elevating the standard of the bakery and confectionery sector in Kashmir, supporting members with resources and advocating for their rights and welfare.
It said that the event served as a platform for the announcement of new initiatives aimed at enhancing the industry’s infrastructure, ensuring compliance with safety standards and promoting Kashmiri bakery products on national and international scales.
The statement said that the meeting concluded with the association members expressing their collective vision for the future and reinforcing the importance of working together for the betterment of the entire industry.
