Ramhall Cricket League: Royal Goodwill Srinagar clinches thrilling DL-win to enter semifinal

Handwara, Sep 7: Royal Goodwill Srinagar advanced to the semi-finals of the Ramhall Cricket League 2025 after defeating Elegant Strikers by four wickets in a rain-affected quarter-final decided by the Duckworth-Lewis method on Sunday.

As per a statement issued, the toss was won by Royal Goodwill Srinagar, who elected to field first. Elegant Strikers put up a challenging total of 125/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Umar Nissar was the top scorer for his side, contributing a solid 42 runs, while Danish Hilal added 24.

Amaan Alvi was the most effective bowler for Royal Goodwill, picking up two wickets for just 18 runs in his four overs.

Chasing a revised target, Royal Goodwill Srinagar's innings was anchored by an exceptional performance from Jehangir Lone. He scored 51 runs off just 33 balls, including 5 fours and 2 sixes, at a staggering strike rate of 154.5. Lone's decisive knock, which came under immense pressure, proved to be the turning point of the match. His teammates, Pawan Nirwani (19 runs) and Amaan Alvi (14 runs), also made valuable contributions to the successful chase.

Elegant Strikers' bowlers fought hard, with Vaibhav Mali impressing with a tight spell, taking three wickets for 19 runs. However, Lone's power hitting proved too much to handle as Royal Goodwill Srinagar chased down the target with four wickets in hand.

Jehangir Lone's match-winning innings earned him the "Player of the Match" award.
