Handwara, Oct 12: In a thrilling and closely contested semi-final match of the Ramhall Cricket League 2025, Royal Goodwill Srinagar defeated Sky Stars Budgam by a narrow margin of 4 runs at the Shaheen Sports Field, Pandithpora, Handwara.
The limited-overs match, as per a statement issued on Sunday, saw Royal Goodwill Srinagar opt to bat first after winning the toss.
They posted a challenging total of 166 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs. A blistering half-century from opening batsman Ishtiyaq Rasool, who scored 50 runs off just 23 balls (including 3 fours and 5 sixes), provided the early impetus. Nasir Bashir Kumar (32 off 20) and Rasikh (21 off 15) made valuable contributions to the middle-order score. Sky Stars Budgam's bowling attack was led admirably by Javid Jaddu, who claimed 3 wickets for 21 runs in his four overs, while Shabir Lefty took 2 wickets.
Chasing 167 for a place in the final, Sky Stars Budgam fought valiantly but ultimately fell short, finishing their innings at 162 for 6 in 20 overs.
