Rains, snow likely in Kashmir parts till Mar 27, says MeT

Srinagar, Mar 25: The Meteorological department today predicted light to moderate rains and snow in central and north Kashmir areas till March 27.

An official said that there is a possibility of light rains and snow over higher reaches at scattered places mainly over central and north Kashmir areas today.

He said a spell of light to moderate rains and snow over higher reaches at many places mainly over central and north Kashmir areas is expected towards March 26 late afternoon till night and during March 27 late afternoon till night, and said gradual improvement in weather conditions thereafter.

The official said that from March 28 to April 03, the weather conditions will likely remain dry.

Possibility of thunder with gusty winds at few places during March 26-27 is expected, the official said.

The department advised travelers, tourists and transporters to plan their journey accordingly and follow advisories being issued by administration and traffic department. It also advised farmers to suspend farm operations during March 26 and 27.
