Pursue excellence with laser-focus for better future: Devyani Rana

Jammu, Dec 5: MLA Nagrota Devyani Rana Friday exhorted the Heritage School achievers to remain grounded in their values, pursue their goals with laser-focus and to approach the world with compassion.

She was addressing the young achievers at the felicitation ceremony at Heritage School today. In her inspiring address, she motivated the students emphasising the enduring value of excellence, integrity and purpose-driven leadership.

In her remarks, Devyani Rana reflected on the significance of the occasion and the promise represented by the young achievers.

“Standing here today evokes memories of my own school years,” she said, adding, “It is a profound honour to address such bright young minds and to stand alongside the teachers whose guidance shapes their future. This moment is both humbling and deeply meaningful.”

Devyani remembered political stalwart and her father late Devender Singh Rana and his long-standing association with the institution.

“Rana Sahib visited this school on several occasions as chief guest on several events and as a parent to a Heritagean, holding the institute in the highest regard. To be invited here is both a privilege and a responsibility,” she said.

Speaking directly to the students, Devyani Rana offered a message rooted in hard work and perseverance in the pursuit of excellence.

“You are the future leaders, creators, thinkers and change makers of our nation. Your accomplishments today should make your families proud, but they should also inspire those around you. True success is not measured only by accolades. It is measured by the example you set and the lives you uplift. Excellence grows out of discipline, humility and a commitment to doing what is right, even when no one is watching,” she said.

Newly elected BJP MLA from Nagrota encouraged the students to remain grounded in their values to pursue excellence.

“As you move forward, let your character be your compass and let your effort reflect the promise within you,” she said.

Heritage School Principal Akash Pradhan praised the students for their achievements and noted that their dedication reflected the school’s mission to shape confident, capable and responsible individuals.

He expressed gratitude to the teachers and parents for their continued support and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to fostering academic excellence, creativity and leadership.

Pradhan also acknowledged the guidance and support of the school’s leadership, including chairman Sunil Gupta, Rohit Gupta, Vishal Gupta, Sunita Gupta, and vice principal Rashmi Thakur, who played a central role in strengthening the school’s vision of excellence.
