SED conducts surprise inspection in 200 Govt schools in Rajouri
Rajouri, Dec 5: The School Education Department (SED) has placed under suspension two government teachers whereas salaries of entire staff in eleven schools have been withheld in Rajouri district.
Besides, an explanation notice has been served to staff in thirty-four schools.
The action has been taken by the department after conducting a simultaneous surprise inspection of 200 Government schools across Rajouri district.
The inspection was conducted after some complaints of serving mid-day meals to the students against the prescribed and government approved menu. The inspection teams were also tasked to monitor the academic standards of the students.
Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri Mohammad Hafiz said that teams of department headed by officers conducted surprise inspections of the schools on Wednesday and the inspection teams submitted reports before the department on Thursday after which the reports were closely examined and all the findings were thoroughly studied and acted upon.
“We have placed under suspension two teachers with one posted in Primary School Dhara and other in Primary School Namble Kalyan as both teachers were not present in school after marking their attendance,” CEO said.
He further informed that during inspection of thirty-four schools, it came to fore that mid-day meal was not being served as per menu after which salaries of all the staffers of these thirty-four schools were withheld.
Furthermore, Chief Education Officer Rajouri said, in eleven schools, not only the violation of the mid-day meal scheme was found but even the academic standards were below average and poor.
“We have ordered to withhold salaries of all the staff members of these eleven schools till further orders until academic standards of students are improved,” CEO further said.
