Police conduct raids in connection with investigation of proscribed organizations in central Kashmir’s Budgam

Srinagar, Mar 24: Budgam police today conducted searches at multiple locations across the district in the terror related cases of proscribed/ banned organisations.

A police spokesperson said the searches were made in connection with investigation of case FIR No. 08/2024, 09/2024, 87/2024 under UAPA pertaining to proscribed organisations Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Muslim League and Peoples Freedom League. The organisations were declared proscribed in the year 2024.

He said the searches were conducted at the houses/premises of suspected OGWs/suspected activists residing in villages Daharmuna, Warpora, Badran, Kawoosa Khalisa and Buzgoo of Budgam district.

Previously also searches were conducted at the Head Office of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat situated at Millat Trust building Hyderpora wherein incriminating material was recovered and seized, he said.

By conducting raids, Budgam police reiterates it commitment of maintaining peace and security in the district. Stringent action will be taken against unlawful elements in future also to dismantle the terror ecosystem, the spokesperson added.
