Police attach property of drug peddlers in Pulwama, Awantipora

Srinagar, Dec 12: In a relentless effort to curb the menace of drug peddling, Police in Pulwama today attached a single storey residential house valuing approximately Rs 20 lakhs belonging to a notorious drug peddler, Javaid Ahmad Ganaie, resident of Loolipora Kakapora.

The property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation conducted by Pulwama police. The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drug and psychotropic substances by the owner. The drug peddler is presently lodged in central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu under PIT NDPS act.

The action has been taken under sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of NDPS Act of 1985 and is linked with case FIR no 15/2023 U/S 8/15 of NDPS act of PS Kakapora and FIR No. 220/2020 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act of Police Station Pulwama.

Meanwhile, continuing its operation against drug peddlers, Police in Awantipora attached a single-storied, residential house valuing approximately Rs 25 lakh belonging to a notorious drug peddler namely Tajamul Masoodi, resident of Bagander, Pampore under section 68-F of NDPS Act 1985.
