People voting for weakest ever assembly: Sajad Lone

Srinagar, Oct 1: Peoples’ Conference (PC) President Sajad Gani Lone Tuesday said that people of Jammu and Kashmir are voting for weakest ever assembly today, which will have no powers.

He was  talking to  reporters in Kupwara. Lone stated  that though it is a moment of joy to vote and elect representatives after a gap of over 10 years, but at the same time it is a reality that there is an element of humiliation.

“I have already told that it is a moment of happiness that people will get their elected representatives through ballot exercise, but at the same time it is a reality there is an element of humiliation. When we fought past elections we were fighting for a powerful assembly, but we are fighting for a weakest ever assembly today, the powerless assembly,” he  said.

He, however,  appealed electorates of his constituency to vote for his party, and make Peoples’ Conference winner.
