NC will fight on its own from all seats in J&K Assembly elections: Farooq Abdullah

Srinagar, Aug 12: National Conference (NC) president Dr Farooq Abdullah Monday said that his party will fight Assembly elections on its own.

He said that militancy in J&K has not ended rather it is being contained through concerted efforts by security agencies.

NC leader while interacting media person in Doda ruled out any alliance with other political parties in Assembly elections in J&K. “NC will stand on its own feet and contest from all 90 Assembly seats independently,” he said.

“Our agenda is crucial for the development, happiness and protection of the people of Jammu & Kashmir,” he said and added, “NC will move forward on its own strength, and will seek suggestions from people for the betterment of the party”.

Replying to a query NC president said that he will fight the elections and the party will stand on its own feet. “I’m not dead. I will fight the elections wherever needed,” he added.

Responding to a query the NC leader said that militancy in Jammu and Kashmir is being “contained” through concerted measures by security agencies.

“We believe that militancy in J&K has not ended. It is being contained, or we will say it is under control. But the biggest change is that people want peace, progress and prosperity,” he maintained.
