In response to a question about Ghulam Nabi Azad’s remarks that no mosque was pulled down in Kashmir, Omar said that if he (Azad) wanted such a situation to arise here.  “Does he want the condition of Muslims here to be the same as it is in the rest of the country by bringing BJP here ,” he said.

He said that they were fighting elections to save the region from such a situation. Omar said that there was no big difference in the remarks of Home Minister Amit Shah’s and Azad’s regarding the independent contenders.  “Amit Shah sahab also said that if they fell short of seats, they will form the government with independent candidates,” said Omar. He said that now Azad says it is crucial to vote for the independents.

After addressing an election rally in Pulwama district, Omar told reporters that post-2019, BJP did many experiments in Kashmir by launching new parties. “But you know what happened to them. Even their candidates lost security deposits in the LoK elections,” he said. He said that the National Conference had made supreme sacrifices to uphold the flag of this country. “We have sacrificed more than 4000 workers for this country over the last three decades”, Omar said.
