Baramulla, Sept 29: The National Conference and Congress alliance candidate for Wagoora Kreeri constituency Advocate Irfan Hafeez Lone on Sunday stated that the biggest challenge was to defeat BJP and RSS policies and the alliance stands united against these policies.

Talking to media persons on the last day of his campaigning, Lone said that the BJP snatched the basic rights of the people and erstwhile J&K State was reduced to a Union Territory and youth were being oppressed as well.

"There is an attack on our land, our jobs on our rights but we are committed to defeat the ideology of the BJP and RSS," he said.

He further stated that the NC-Congress alliance was "very important" to defeat the ideology of the BJP and RSS as everyone’s objective is to defeat the BJP’s policies in Jammu and Kashmir.

"I hope that this alliance will not be limited to the elections only, but we will go across Gandhi's country. We will peacefully fight for our rights and against oppression," Irfan Hafeez Lone said.

Unlike other constituencies, the Wagoora-Kreeri constituency saw a vibrant show of the alliance partners as the NC supporters were seen accompanying Lone during his campaigning in the constituency.

"The way people are showing their love, we are hopeful that they will place their trust in me. This is the only constituency where the NC-Congress is vibrant and alive. I hope people will make a wise decision on October 1 of 2024 and give me a chance to serve them," he said.

Advocate Irfan Hafeez Lone however broke in tears as he recalled his father and cousin who "fell to bullets."

"I was in 7th grade when my father fell to bullets, My cousin was also killed. Around one lac people lost their lives and Kashmiri Pandits were displaced," Emotional Lone recalled.

He came down heavily on PM Narendra Modi saying that the slogan of 'Ache din' was a distant dream for Kashmir since 2014.

"In 2014, Modi said good days (ache din) would come. Have my Kashmiri Pandits returned? Has there been any improvement in the situation? Conditions have worsened in Jammu," Lone said.

Referring to the support of people extended to him during his road show on last day of his campaigning, Irfan Hafee Lone said that

"Seeing the passion of the people, I express my gratitude to them. We all are enduring tyranny and oppression. People know that I have always stood with them. If given a chance, I will represent these people and will live up to their expectations," Lone said.

Emotions ran high as Lone prayed for mercy and strength from Allah and hoped that all people would fight together for peace and make the best decision on October 01 of 2024.

"God will not leave us hopeless. May God have mercy on us," he said.

He said that J&K was a historic state, and the BJP broke it apart and lied that the people welcomed it. "But BJP must have learnt a lesson as they were not allowed to cross 400 seats which they claimed during last Lok Sabha elections," he said.
