Searches underway after suspicious movement noticed in J-K's Rajouri
Srinagar, Sept 30: Security forces have launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) following a suspicious movement in J-K's Rajouri, reports said Monday.
The movement was witnessed at Manial Gali under Thanamandi police station Sunday, wire agency ANI reported.
The hilly districts of Rajouri and Poonch along the Pir Panjal range and several other districts of Jammu including, Udhampur and Kathua have seen a spate of attacks on the security forces in recent months.
The J&K police chief DGP Swain assess that around 100 foreign militants have infiltrated to this side of border.
On Saturday, a Head Constable of police was killed while a DySP and an Assistant Sub-Inspector were injured in a gunfight in Jammu's Kathua.
The attack comes days before the last phase of the ongoing assembly elections in the region held after a decade. Jammu is going to polls in the last phase.
