MVD Bandipora organises medical camp for drivers
Bandipora, Jan 3: In view of ongoing Road Safety Month the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Bandipora, led by ARTO Anis Ahmed Wani, organised a free medical camp for drivers at the Main Bus Stand, Bandipora.
Speaking at the event, ARTO said that the initiative was conducted in collaboration with the Health Department which aims to promote road safety and well-being among the transporters.
He said more than 300 drivers received thorough medical check-ups including eye check-ups besides free medicines were provided to them.
The camp in addition to addressing the immediate health needs of the drivers also served as an important platform for raising awareness about road safety measures.
He added that transporters and drivers were educated on the significance of adhering to road safety guidelines with a focus on safe driving practices besides importance of vehicle maintenance and the implementation of road safety laws.
ARTO emphasized the role of medical check-ups in ensuring the fitness of drivers which directly impacts road safety. He also highlighted that such initiatives are essential to protect the lives of drivers, passengers and the wider community.
He informed that Motor Vehicles Department Bandipora has planned a series of events throughout Road Safety Month including health camps, awareness workshops, and distribution of informational materials on safe driving practices.
