JKEEGA reiterates its protest call on Jan 8

Srinagar, Jan : The Jammu Kashmir Electrical Engineering Graduates Association (JKEEGA) has reaffirmed its decision to hold a protest on January 8, following an earlier postponement from December 30.

"While our engineers have been working tirelessly to restore and maintain essential services during the recent weather crisis, our fundamental demands cannot be indefinitely postponed," JKEEGA President Pirzada Hidayatullah said in a statement issued here. “The January 8 protest will proceed as scheduled unless our concerns are meaningfully addressed before then.”

The protest centres on the non-implementation of the SAC's decision from October 21, 2019, regarding the regularisation of Power Development Department (PDD) engineers, an issue that has remained unresolved for over four years and other HR issues of the PDD.
