MP Mian Altaf saddened over damage caused by flash floods in Kangan villages

Srinagar, Aug 04: National Conference senior leader and Member of Parliament Mian Altaf Ahmed on Sunday expressed grief and sadness over the unfortunate incident in Kangan wherein flashfloods have caused significant damage to the property including residential houses, agricultural land and vehicles.

In a statement issued here, Mian Altaf said that it is deeply shocking and sad that flashfloods occurred in several areas of Kangan sub-division including Cherwan, Kullan and Gagengar areas causing massive damage to residential houses in Cherwan area besides damaging the agricultural fields.

He urged the administration to take necessary measures in this regard and relief and assistance should be provided to the affected. “I urge the administration to provide relief and compensation to the affected people besides take measures so that under such circumstances the damage is avoided,” he said.
