MLA Mian Mehar Ali pledges sports infrastructure boost in Kangan
Kangan, Aug 31: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Mian Mehar Ali vowed to enhance sports infrastructure across the Kangan constituency, assuring development of playgrounds while attending the T20 cricket final at Rayil as chief guest.
Mian Mehar Ali, while acknowledging the active participation of youth in sports activities in the Kangan constituency, assured several developmental plans to enhance and upgrade the sports infrastructure here.
He said that concrete efforts were underway to improve and expand the sports infrastructure in the Kangan constituency of Ganderbal district. Speaking after attending as the chief guest at the final match between Friends 11 Gagangair and Rayil 11 at Rayil cricket ground, Mian Mehar assured development of all the playgrounds in the Kangan constituency, besides providing sports kits to the cricket teams from each village.
“It is encouraging to see so many youngsters engaged in sports activities,” adding that to provide them the best sports facilities, we are working tirelessly to enhance and upgrade the sports infrastructure in the Kangan constituency. Enhancing sports infrastructure and seeing youth playing Nationals and beyond will remain my priorities in the next four years, and in this way, I have already taken up the efforts about accelerating infrastructure initiatives,” he said.
The cricket final witnessed a vibrant atmosphere as Friends 11 Gagengair emerged victorious over the Rayil cricket team. MLA Mian Mehar Ali encouraged the players with his presence and supportive words.
MLA Kangan congratulated the winners and lauded the spirit of sportsmanship displayed throughout the match. Emphasising the importance of youth development, the MLA urged young people to focus on education and constructive pursuits like sports while staying away from harmful activities such as drug abuse.
“We will stand with our youth and support them in all their sports-related endeavours,” he said. The event concluded with loud cheers from the audience, reflecting the growing enthusiasm for sports in the region.
Chairman of Civil Society Tehsil Gund and Chairman of Rayil Cricket Board Yasir Arfat, besides several respectable citizens, attended the event.
