MD JKRLM inaugurates workshop on vision development programme
Jammu, Dec 3: Mission Director, Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM), Indu Kanwal Chib, today inaugurated a five-day workshop for the officials of the Mission under the non-farm theme aimed at developing their capacity in implementing non-farm livelihoods generating programme at the block and district levels of JKRLM.
The workshop, facilitated by training modules developed by Kudumbashree NRO and drawn from field experiences in implementing various non-farm programs, aims to enhance staff competencies in program planning and implementation. The comprehensive training programme fosters a holistic approach to non-farm initiatives within the organisation.
Throughout this intensive training program, the staff will develop a clear understanding of non-farm programmes and their expansion in respective blocks and districts.
They will also conceptualize the role of strengthening community institutions, nurturing cadres for non-farm promotion, understanding different aspects of business, convergence, and establishing effective monitoring and documentation practices. By gaining an overall vision for non-farm programs and developing action plans, the staff will align with the overall vision of non-farm initiatives under NRLM (National Rural Livelihoods Mission).
On the occasion, Mission Director JKRLM stated that the intention and purpose of the workshop is to focus on nurturing community-based organizations in non-farm livelihoods and building their capacity to support entrepreneurs. In addition, resource mapping, the role of community-based organizations in startup support, and the management of facilitation centres will be explored.
By equipping the non-farm staff with the necessary skills and knowledge, Mission Director envisions strengthening the overall implementation and impact of non-farm programs in Jammu and Kashmir, contributing to the Mission's mandate of poverty reduction and sustainable livelihoods promotion. The workshop highlights the mission's commitment to uplifting rural women and supporting rural self-help group women in becoming successful entrepreneurs, she added.
