Srinagar, Apr 02: Authorities on Tuesday shot dead the leopard, believed to be behind the killing of two minor girls at separate places in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

An official told news agency Kashmir Scroll that after receiving directions from Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Akshay Labroo, in the backdrop of the recent incident, the authorities laid traps and made all possible efforts to neutralize the animal.

“After several days of wait, the Jammu and Kashmir Police killed the leopard at Social-forestry Nursery in Samsan village in Khansahib Budgam,” said the official.

The same leopard is believed to have struck multiple times last month, claiming lives of two minor girls and injuring a minor boy in Samsan and Hariwani villages. (KS)
