Maken reviews election campaigning of Congress

Jammu, Apr 9:  AICC treasurer Ajay Maken Tuesday reviewed the election campaigning of Congress party in Udhampur and Jammu Lok Sabha constituencies with the AICC coordinators Ravinder Sharma and Naresh Gupta, war room incharge Narinder Sharma and issued guidelines to them for effective management of booths.

In a virtual meeting, AICC treasurer took stock of the ongoing election campaign in both Lok Sabha constituencies of Jammu region. He got input about the election preparedness, party coordination amongst various units of the party at different levels and distribution of Congress guarantees cards.

The AICC coordinators for Jammu region were asked by the AICC leader about the preparedness for the voting; door to door distribution of guarantee cards and various other issues for complete coordination at various levels with the direction to reach out to voters and workers at grass root levels.

He issued guidelines to the coordinators for intensifying the campaign especially to educate masses about Congress commitments.

Maken shared the grass root feedback about the positive mood of the people, who he alleged, “were fed up with BJP and its policies.” He told them to focus on door to door campaigns to reach out to the people with “Congress guarantees in the Nyay Pattar.”

Ravinder Sharma and Naresh Gupta apprised the AICC leader about the ongoing campaign to distribute the Congress manifesto and the 25 guarantees including for farmers, youth, women and labourers besides justice to SCs, STs, OBCs and other sections.

Another meeting is scheduled for April 12.

Meanwhile, the JKPCC senior vice president and chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma has asked the party cadres to gear up door to door campaigning and strengthen booth committees for effective management of the booths.
